The New Wave Soft Hackle Deceiver is one of my favorite streamer types, a fly that's full of life-like motion that takes fish wherever fish take streamers and is often the first fly I tie on when "searching" for bass or trout.

The New Wave Soft Hackle Deceiver differs from the original Soft Hackle Deceiver only in the collaring, featuring a very soft collar of marabou and hackle instead of mallard.

Where two colors are used to describe the pattern (e.g., red/yellow) the first color describes the color of the marabou topping; the second color describes the predominant color of the fly, that is, of the marabou hackling and/or the tailwing feathers.
